R.I.P. Rufus

Post  rufuskins on Tue 19 Apr 2016, 7:29 pm

Late this afternoon Rufus crossed the "Rainbow Bridge" due to physical (back end) and mental (dementia) problems.

The vet was very considerate and Rufus passed away quite peacefully.

Hi Alec,

So sorry to hear of the passing of Rufus. I am sure that he must have given you a lot of pleasure over the years. As a dog owner myself I know what you are going through at this time.

Thank you Stephen. This morning has been just as strange, especially at 10:30 when we normally went for our local walk!

Oh no Alec. So, so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Rufus! He looked like a cheeky little character! I know how hard it is as if you remember we lost our beloved boy Chester who was only 5 back in October last year. I can echo everyone elses words....

Thinking of you and your family at this sad time. Sad

Best Wishes

Andy

Andy, your kind thoughts are much appreciated.

Rufus was always honest with me and was never afraid to tell me when I got things wrong as shown in the following picture. He said it would leak and so it did!

Alec,

I'm so sorry to hear about Rufus' passing. I know how much he meant to you and all the good times that you have had together.
I know how hard it can be when you suddenly find a large part of your life has gone missing.

Take care and I hope you keep well,

Justin

Many thanks for your kind words. We are just about coping and obviously time will be a good healer as we start to recall all the good times rather than the recent problems he suffered with.

So sorry, Alec. Rufus in the photographs looks a great character and a very loving and affectionate dog. You have all my sympathy. Is a middle-aged rescue dog needing a good home a possibility? With very best wishes. Roderic
