Grotesque Advertisement

Does anyone know a way of preventing this grotesque advertisement appearing on these forums?

Unfortunately the adverts are the price of a free forum site! I hate the one that says you have one(1) unclaimed prize. This appears on other sites and if you click on the red cross it still takes you to the site!
I believe that it is possible to install some software for Google Chrome that is supposed to block these, but I am a little wary as when I installed it before I subsequently had other advert problems - they just appeared on a random basis! ( see http://tsforum.freeclanforum.com/t80-help-required ) It is probable that there was no link but . . .

I view the forum using Firefox and I use Ad Block plus. Each time one I appears I just block it. Getting to stage now where I rarely see adverts on here now.

What sort of router are you using David?

With the Netgear model I have at home; I can blacklist certain sites & am slowly working through various advertising hosts.

You can also edit your "hosts" file to force Windows to look elsewhere; so that for instance if you set it as follows
bbc.co.uk 127.0.01
you will not get to the BBC website and receive a "page cannot be displayed" message unless you have a locally hosted website on your PC.

My latest advert is 'Non Stop You' linked to Lufthansa. Very boring. Smile
To actually reach this site, I have to use 'ExpatShield'.

I have an ADSL connection from the local telephone utility company here.
