Airedale

Route Name = Airedale

Route Author = Martin Bryant

Route Location = Bradford - Leeds

Route Mileage = TBC

Route Era = Modern

Route Source = from UKTS downloading at UKTrainSim

Additional files required to be installed = UKFineScale

Route Description =
An MSTS route available to download as noted above.

Activities and relevant stock are available from UKTS.

“The Airedale Line runs from Leeds to Skipton, with trains branching off to Ilkley to the north and Bradford to the south. It is a line of extremes, with beautiful North Yorkshire countryside at the Skipton end, and the urban sprawl of the Leeds-Bradford conurbation at the other.

This route features complete track from Bradford Forster Square to Leeds, however the track work from Shipley to Skipton is not included. The release only has scenery between Bradford and Shipley, but has full signalling, platforms and speed limits along the route, meaning that Activities can be created realistically.

The track work was built using Tim Booth's excellent UK Finescale track set, making it look more like an authentic British railway. Due to tunnel sections not being available in release 1 of UKFS the Tunnel at Thackley is replaced by a high-sided cutting. Although this is to a certain extent an incomplete route, the existing scenery detail in place is probably accurate enough to simulate the experience of driving the route.”

This route is not complete but would provide the opportunity to develop a route without starting from scratch, although it should be emphasised that this would be for personal use only.
