Full Bucket Line and Crosby Valley Railway

Post  neanderthal on Thu 26 Sep 2013, 11:24 am

Just wondering has anyone heard of this route,"The Full Bucket",and importantly is it worth having a go at installing it as that's where I usually cock things up.

Secondly may I show my appreciation for the "Crosby Valley Railway V2 (with Keilder Mountain Railway ") which I have managed to download from UKTS and get working.I have as recommended used the Train Pack from the Snowdon Mountain Railway and am very pleased with the result. The scenery alone would make this worth having, what with Walkers,Highland Cattle and Sheep just about every thing your liable to meet has been covered. The journey from Bellingham to Peel is just as interesting with glorious flowers at the trackside and moving people on the Station platforms, Many many thanks to all involved.

PS,is there a Snowdon Mountain Railway Sim out there somewhere ????????????????Surprised

Hi Neanderthal

The Full bucket line in its original form (V1) is quite an old route now, but well worth installing, in its latest incarnation (V3) it is quite an extensive route, there is also a commuter edition (V3.5) which has longer platforms and a few other embellishments added, so if you like the look of it go ahead and give it a go, I don't think you will be disappointed OK

I agree RE: Crosby valley, it is a very nice route.

I don't think there is an actual Snowdon mountain route for MSTS as yet, but I did read somewhere on UKTS that someone was planning to have a go at it.

Hello Mark, thanks for the reply I will give it a go.As for the SMR I think the engines I've used might have a bit of a problem getting to the top, though they were great fun to drive.Cheers.

If you have not seen the official full bucket website, here is the link to it http://www.fullbucket.com/msts/ you will find lots of info, downloads, patches, screenshots etc on there.

The Commuter edition is available here http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/tslib.php?searchid=2049856

If I remember correctly Doug Kightley was working on a Snowdon route many moons ago, and I believe that Justin may have been considering completing it?

Hi Guys,

Yes it is true, I do have Doug's SMR route in my possession (via Terry) and I have been trying to get it finalised for release.
I have been working with Martin (mendes) regarding checking of the route which I think is good to go.

The main hold up has been the rolling stock (or the lack of current standard stock), and having the engines capable of coming back down the line without running away. I am awaiting word from Martin in regards to this.

I had hoped to be able to get this long awaited route out quickly for everyone to enjoy, if everyone is happy to have the route and wait for improved stock to be released (not by me I'm afraid) the I will look into getting someone to go over the route and verify it before getting it uploaded.

I too enjoy the CVR, so much that I am going to try and put together some Activities for it for Actober.

Well said Justin,I'd love to have the SMR to add my Sim,the SMR trains that I am using are great fun,but I'm not sure they'd get up the steepest sections on Snowdon, but it would be great to have the route up and running, and who knows what would come of it.
