Hi all,
Still a work in progress (Very much so) Still trying to find a way for a wrap around of the texture from the side to the roof. In the meantime, I'm still trying to get the shape near enough spot-on! A very long way to go. But this screenshot should give you a good idea;

And also still trying to get an Activity inbetween done.

Cheers

Hi Andy

That will make another good freeware addition. It would be very good for the Dorset Coast Route.

I had built other types Desiros before; Class 350s & 360s five years back, Class 185s last year, and the Scotrail Class 380s earlier this year. I have never got round to the 444s, but good work on your Class 444 model.

An update;

Main Driving coach now with correct Bogie and correct Textures to the bogie and wheel. Still a little bit more work to do on the Bogie tomorrow. But thanks so much to Alistair Cowell for providing me with some of his work and textures!  Very Happy Wink
The TSO coach now has a shape also in readiness to start work on..... Still a lot more work to do on these and getting the passenger views near enough to what I think they should look like. Still a lot more external work to do yet before I start on the Internal passenger view work.
Here are 2 shots;

I've been testing Ged's Activity and a really nice Activity I really must say for his first go!  Wink

Also been doing some work today also on my activity in readiness for the '12 days of Christmas!'

So hopefully should be a good 12 days of Christmas pressie for everyone!  Very Happy

Spent most of the day digging out the ole sealant around the bath and putting in new sealant! Not the best of days when the tiles are cracked and being an older/rented property that the bath is set further away from the wall than it should be! But hey-ho - I think I've made a good job of a bad situation! But I have put in some strong glue for the tiles. and around between the sealant and the tiles. So seems to be setting well. Just go to make it smooth tomorrow! Between this and doing MSTS related stuff and going to my little girls Christmas Nativity play tomorrow and photographing and recording that! It becomes a job in itself!
Cheers

Hi everyone,
Unfortunately the 444 Desiro is taking a back-burner for now... In the meantime I have a couple of Acts I am working on...
One is for the Dorset Coast and it might be a while, but hopefully it will be worth the wait? If I carry on at the rate I am going and with someone testing it for me, hopefully a couple of weeks?
The other one with the DEMU's is still in the pipeline, I have a couple of things I still need to do with this one....
The 444 Desiro is only taking a back-burner for a bit until I can get some help and advice from the Master at Arms!  Very Happy
In the meantime a couple of shots of what I have done so far with the new Act I am working on with DC6.... (Doesn't help when it is being slow to Zoom in and Out of Activity Editor because of the amount that is there) But hey-Ho; hopefully it will be worth it in the end???

Cheers

Hi all,
I have 2 Activities (Pretty) close to completion. 1 is for the London South East Route and the other is for Dorset Coast. This is the first time I have tried doing an activity for Dorset Coast and I was a bit scared to TBH... But now I have made the plunge; I'm glad I have!....  Very Happy
Here is an Act I am working on for another on the Dorset Coast Route! Enjoy the shot! Plenty of A1 Traffic and I won't give the game away, but there are a couple of moments with "Heart in Mouth"

But here is a shot as a taster for the DC6 Act I am currently working on!

Thanks Alec and Andy.
I can't take all the credit though. This is afterall Danny's loco that I have Re-Textured and Renumbered and put on the correct Shed Code.
Also I have made a start in putting some colour on 35013 'Blue Funnel' that is another one that I shall also be doing. I hope someone can give me some feedback on how the plate looks now I have added some colour in this shot?

Thanks

Hi Mike,
I am concentrating currently on the missing "Rebuilts"
Danny got there before me. But if you want to see 35021 'New Zealand Line'; I'm unable to find a colour shot other than this of the nameplate;

So if anyone has a head-on view of it that they can send to me please, would be much appreciated.

Ben,
If you can possibly scan the one you have please (as long as it is head-on) would be really appreciated.... Otherwise I have a lot of texturing and ripping apart to do and the possibility that the nameplate still won't look right.
I have copies of all the Bluebell ones... The link you have sent is everything I have come across.

Hi everyone,
Apologies for no updates, been a tad busy of late... 2nd Interview for tomorrow as well and preparing for that!  Cool  Laughing

BTW, Still left to do for MSTS....

1) Get what I can done for these Merchant Navy's and then look at packaging them up....
2) Get my Dorset Coast Act Edited and finished off and then get the stock list together and sent off for testing...
3) Get together some plans etc for getting a Centre car 144 Unit and layout and pictures to enable MSTS users for putting into a 3 car formation consist.
4) Get some major work done on this 444 Desiro, which I will be working with Justin as and time allows.

Plenty to do, let's hope 2/3 out of the 4 can be uploaded to UKTS in time for the MSTS Easter event!  Very Happy

Cheers

Obviously interviews for work must always come first - unfortunately life does have a habit of interfering with MSTS. Having now retired I'm still adjusting to a different time zone  Shocked   Shocked   Shocked  and need to take that on board.

Looking forward to your Class 144 centre car as I mentioned within my own workshop thread, as well as the Class 444. I have the MLI issue that looks at the 140-144 range, and I'll scan what pictures there are in it and pass them on.

Hi Andy,

Looking at your list of done Merchant Navy Class loco's you only have another 25 to go,as you say you can never have enough of them,good job you didn't start with the WC\BB's you would have a 110 to do,or if you did both Streamlined Spam cans and the Rebuilt ones,that would be 220.

All the best for the job interview tomorrow

Re: Andy's Workshop

Post  35005CP on Sun 23 Mar 2014, 2:59 pm

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the best Wishes for tomorrow. Going to need all the luck I can get! Which hopefully should spur me on to get these things for MSTS done.  Very Happy
Unfortunately, I am only doing the Merchant Navy's or at least looking into the ones that haven't been done as yet. 1 in particular I am leaving as Danny is doing this one for his route.... I am just going to cover the ones that haven't been done previously.
So for my reckoning, so far I have completed as follows;

35001, 35006, 35012, 35013 & 35014.

This leaves yet to do if I can find the Nameplates for;

35002, 35003, 35004, 35007, 35008, 35010, 35015, 35016, 35018, 35019, 35020, 35021, 35022, 35023, 35024, 35025 & 35026.

The following have already been done;

35005, 35009, 35017, 35027, 35028, 35029, 35030

I am sure to get some uploaded, but will have to concentrate on the others as and when time allows!  Very Happy Shocked

If I have made a mistake with regards to the info above, please do let me know....

Alec, Thanks for the message. I'd be glad to see any info that you have on the Centre car.  Very Happy

Best Wishes

Andy

I made a lightly weathered version of 35003 a few years ago, so this could be uploaded if there was any interest.

Hi Danny,
Apologies, I knew there were 1 or 2 I left out.... I completely forgot to adjust my Document file. I think you should upload 35003 as by all accounts as many had a good run over the 105mph with her!....  Laughing
Then maybe, just maybe we can do something with some Rebuilt Merchant Navy Pacific's on a Route looking like it is the 1960's out off Waterloo??? the trouble is how do you go about achieving this for example on Dorset Coast?? The stations and the layout are too modern?
Cheers

OK, I'll do that. I think I'll wait until Alec's Eggstravaganza is on the go.......presumably that's a week or two away?

I think the best 1960's route would be New Forest, it's just a pity Rick has been unable to finish the extension. In fact the 35003 model was built for Rick, plus a few other locos for his planned route.

Well at least that is 2 down from my previous reply of Merchant Navy's to re-texture. Which now obviously leaves the following;

35004, 35007, 35008, 35010, 35015, 35016, 35018, 35019, 35020, 35021, 35022, 35023, 35024, 35025 & 35026.

35008 and 35018 are most certainly on my agenda of ones to do...... I wonder if we can get one done between us Danny of the list of ones to do (35008 ideally) with chalk writing on the smokebox door and possibly looking a bit worst for wear? What do you think?  Wink
Ideally I would love to do an Activity around Waterloo..... I think the New Forest is great, but you don't have the track to do a mixture of A1 traffic coming in and out of Waterloo and coming Light loco from Nine Elms...... I wonder if we can in someway persuade the owner of Dorset Coast to do a conversion for Dorset Coast?

Cheers

Andy, 35015 Rotterdam Lloyd will be released with SouthEast as this was the only Rebuilt MN allocated to this area. There is also a Golden Arrow version.

I can do a grubby 35008 ( or help) but it will need to wait a while I'm afraid.

Hi
Some body was doing a conversion of the Dorset Coast to Dorset Coast Steama couple of years ago
I can remember seeing screen shots of it on UKTS,he had done quite a bit of it and it also included the Steyning Route,I think the person doing it was SD Trains but I could be wrong.

Could you possibly put a message over on UKTS to find out if that was going to happen? If not are you able to send me a link to it please?
Thanks
Andy

Apologies Danny - I knew there was another one I had forgot to take off my spreadsheet.... So is the following correct?  Shocked

35004, 35007, 35008, 35010, 35016, 35018, 35019, 35020, 35021, 35022, 35023, 35024, 35025 & 35026.

I just hope I haven't left any out now?

Yes please Danny, it would be great to see 35008 fresh out of the paintshop as well as looking worst for wear? Maybe without the Nameplate?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy

I did a search on UKTS and the last post by the chap who was making the steam version of the Dorset Coast was on the 20th May 2013 this is what he wrote

Perhaps 'no news is good news' at the moment. Like a few other route builders out there, I have been getting on with things, and each session brings another sown seed into bloom.
I have been working on other things, too, and will continue to do so!!

The person who was doing the steam version goes under the name of SD Trains,I think his first name is Stephen.

Hi Mike,
Here is a link to the Steyning Revisited thread here;
I think this is the thread that SDTrains wants to keep open. a shame there has been no update on this thread since 2012.....

Hi
Some how he had managed to merge Dorset Coast and Steyning Line together,he was also going to put both Nine Elms and Feltham yards into his steam version.
It seems a shame it looks like it will not be finished especially after all the work he had put into it

Lets hope he hasn't forgotten about it, but it seems from his posts that he now uses the other said Sim...... Evil or Very Mad
Anyway back to the world of MSTS, I have made a small start on the 144 Class Centre Car.... Lots to do, but at least a start has been made  Very Happy

Hi all,
Does anyone know what liveries these Centre Coaches have been done in please? This way it will ensure I have covered all 144 liveries before it is uploaded....
Thanks Alec for the JPEG files, these are a great help! I did send you a reply to your email... I hope you got it?  Very Happy
Thanks in advance
Best Wishes
Andy

Andy
If you look at the picture labelled centre car you can see the current internal seating layout as well as a written comment on the original seating.
