Changing passenger loading times in AE?

Is there any way of changing passenger loading times in AE?

I am writing an act for NWEv3 and I have allowed a minute for stops on small intermediate stations, but the passenger loading times are far to long for a small station, just short of 2 mins, is there any way of changing this or is it fixed?

Hi Mark,

Not sure if this is of any help? But you can do this by selecting the station marker and selecting properties. (Here you can change the number of passengers at each stop)
A really great tool to have is called Activity Changer. It's been some time since I have done an Activity, so apologise if I have given you the wrong Information. also you can manually change the Arrival and Departure times by going into the Act file itself. (Use Notepad to manually change the figures)

Hi Andy and Mark,
I don't think Activity Changer can change the number of passengers at a station.

You are correct regarding selecting the properties of a Platform Marker; I think the default is 20 passengers.

I'll go and have a look at the platform properties, I have tried everything else in AE except that.

I have already manually adjusted the times of arrival and departure (in AE) to the times I've achieved in OR, it was just the passenger loading times that were confuzzling me.

That's cracked it OK the train is leaving all stations on time now, I reduced the number of passengers from 20 to 10 on all the intermediate stations. Very Happy

Hi Mark, I've had to go into many an Activity to change the number of passengers at a station as
it was impossible to keep near the timetable as originally downloaded.
I read that you have cracked what you had to do and I found like you that the default figure had
not been changed when the Activity was made available for download. Very Happy

Hi Mark, if you are creating a new activity for downloading i.e. a zip file containing a Read-me and
the .apk file which has in it your saved amended Activity this will keep any changes you made to the
passenger numbers.
What I was referring too in my post was that some times I have made the changes and saved the Activity for
my own use, obviously if I reloaded the .apk file again, I would overwrite my changes and it would revert
back to the way it was.

I read it wrong, I intend to upload it at some point in the near future, haven't packaged and uploaded an act before so I might need some advice and some testers, I will start a thread in the Activities section once I'm happy with it.

Hi Mark, when you create a new Activity, every station you stop at starts with the default number of
passengers and new ones must be entered to allow for your players consist.
If you using a long consist with many coaches, you can increase the number of  passengers to extend
the load/unload time but if your consist has only one or two coaches you need to decrease the number.
That is why every passenger Activity has different numbers from the default ones and I have found
several that have not been amended and so needed changing.

Hi Bob.

I was not very happy with the default values, that's why I asked the question about changing it, I had a vague memory of doing it before but had completely forgot how to do it, couldn't remember if it was in AE, or if it was a parameter that you set when you placed the station marker in RE.

Hi Mark,

As a further reference you could try reading the ORTS Manual P132/3 section 10.12.4 Stop Time at Stations for more information on how OR handles station stops. This certainly helped me understand why sometimes station stop times are different in each sim.

From what little I know of route building the default value of passengers is set when you insert the station marker in the Route Editor. A new value can be made with the Activity Editor for each station and its activity. The original default value can easily be reset at any time if needed. As Bob said any new number of passengers is packaged with the activity ready for uploading.
